About Level

Our  Story

How it all started

Our founders spent years inside independent restaurants in Northern Illinois and beyond, listening to owners talk about overflowing tickets, glitchy systems, surprise fees, and support teams that were never around when the kitchen got slammed. The pattern was always the same. Big-name systems were built for national chains, then pushed on local operators who had to bend their business around the software.

Level was created to flip that script. We pair a modern POS and restaurant management system with local service, upfront pricing, and a setup process that respects how your restaurant already runs. You keep your way of doing things. We bring the tools that help you move faster, serve guests better, and keep more of every ticket.

On-Site Consultation

We visit your restaurant, walk the floor with you, and map Level to your actual flow, from host stand to bar to kitchen.

Done-For-You Setup

Our team builds your menus, programs modifiers, and configures stations so your staff can start using Level on day one.

Training & Support That Sticks Around

You get in-person training for your team and an ongoing local contact, not a faceless ticket queue.

Who we work with

For  Independent  Restaurants

Make more profit from every shift

Built for neighborhood originals

We fight for your margin so more of every shift stays in your hands.

Our  Approach

Personal and practical support for every location

Technology alone does not fix a backed-up line or a frustrated guest. That is why Level pairs software with a local partner who knows the restaurant world and can come on-site when it counts. During onboarding we map out your stations, prep areas, and service style, then design Level around that flow.

Once you are live, we stay close. Need to add a new menu item, build a seasonal promo, or open a patio bar station for the summer. Your Level rep is one text or call away and can jump in to help you make changes without derailing service.

Restaurant Walk-Throughs

We visit your restaurant, walk the floor with you, and watch how orders really move when things get busy. Host stand, bar, expo, kitchen, and patio, we look at each step. Then we recommend a station layout, printer setup, and device placement that keeps tickets moving instead of piling up.

Implementation Game Plan

Once we understand your flow, we build a clear, step-by-step rollout plan so there are no surprises. Together we pick timing that avoids your peak hours, decide how to phase in new stations, and outline what your team needs to know before day one. Everyone sees what will happen, when it will happen, and who is responsible for each step.

Ongoing Check-Ins

Our work does not stop when the system goes live. After launch we check back in, review how the first weeks have gone, and listen to your team about what feels smooth and what feels clunky. We then fine tune settings, screens, and workflows so Level keeps getting better the longer you use it, instead of being a one-and-done install.

I’ve been building payment and software companies for over twenty years. Seven years ago I looked at what the big POS players were charging independents — long contracts, bloated interfaces, constant upsells — and decided there was a better way.

So I wrote the first line of Level myself and self-funded the whole thing.

From day one the goal was simple: give owners a system that’s fast, flexible, and actually pleasant to use — without layers of fees or fine print. No committees, no corporate roadmaps, just a small team shipping features that solve real problems the same week owners ask for them.

Today I still lead development. If a new integration will save you time or money, we build it. If something feels clunky, we fix it. That’s been the rule since 2018 and it’s not changing.

I owned and ran Bellagio’s Pizza in the west suburbs of Chicago—those Friday nights with ringing phones, ovens firing on all cylinders, and tickets stacked with half-pepperoni/half-veggie specials, extra sauce on one side, square cuts, well-done crusts. I felt the chaos firsthand, especially when clunky POS systems turned simple orders into nightmares, eating away at profits and sanity for us independent owners.

That’s why I built Level—to fix what I lived through, with features like a seamless pizza builder for halves and quarters, caller ID that greets your regulars by name, and online ordering that actually boosts your bottom line without the usual headaches.

But my path there wasn’t just pizza dough. After selling Bellagio’s, I dove into payments and tech, leading sales and business development at places like Worldpay and BluePay, where I scaled merchant solutions to over $100 million in processing volume, trained teams to close deals with hardware partners, and crafted strategies that made tech feel human again. Those years sharpened Level into a full ecosystem—affordable, flexible, and packed with the real support ISOs and owners deserve.

I still devour too much pizza, and yeah, I’ll pick up the phone on a Saturday night if you’re stuck. Because I’ve been right where you are.
